snoopr.net version 2!11/24/07

Wow, its been a long while since my last update. Hope everyone is doing well, I know I am :)

I wanted to let everyone know that version two of snoopr.net has launched, and does so with a plethora of new features. Version one was a moderate success, so Kevin and I really wanted to expand upon the idea, so we really let loose. We now have:

The site isn't monochrome, but the colors
don't look very good with this teal dealie :)
  1. Friends
  2. Upgraded profiles
  3. Snoopr feeds! Basically find out what's going on at the site, similar to facebook's
  4. Trophy cases, to keep track of your savings
  5. Full-fledged messaging & recommendations
  6. much more, seriously!

I'd love to hear everyone's opinions on the new site, what should be added, removed, changed, whatever. Be sure to drop by the snoopr blog to tell us all what you think or just learn what's new. Enjoy! :)

Not too long ago, popular tech news site Slashdot.org decided to give their website a much-needed facelift. They decided to open it up to their members, declaring that the best submission would be used as their new design. 400+ submissions later, Proxima Lab's entry was picked as one of the top eight. Then four. Then three. Eventually it came down to the final two, and we snagged the coveted 2nd place. Not quite there, but we'll take it.

Along with our server crushing (literally) exposure from the Slashdot contest, we got more than a few offers to do some quality web development. Notably from Princeton University, who asked us to create a web portal to facilitate the creation and maintenance of their Eating Clubs (similar to Frats). It has finally finished construction, and is now live. Unfortunately a good deal of dynamic content is hidden beyond the login section, but trust me, it's pretty neat. :)

Inovent has been a great company to work with because we have really got to see them flourish from a small start up to a global distributor. Our original website has been transformed dramatically, but many themes remain the same: logo design, branding, and layout. Take a look around.

Proxima Labs was commissioned to create a web site for a group who was only interested in one thing: your safety. Well, computer safety. They could really care less about what happens to you physically (kidding!). Anyway, we were told to design the site around a promotional CD they had been handing out, and we did just that. Check it out and get secure.
