VERSION EIGHT GOES LIVE! / 9/26/05
Welcome to the brand new Proxima Labs Eight. After nearly a year of downtime, we have finally given the site the facelift it deserves. Fleshed out with skins, fully functional css, and interactive features, we hope you enjoy the new layout. If you encounter any errors please shoot us an e-mail.
Proxima Labs is the brainchild of designer/developers Peter Lada and Kevin Wood. Created nearly 10 years ago, the website has gone through countless versions, updates, and makeovers, spawned multiple spin-offs, and consumed hundreds of hours of our time =) In essence, Proxima Labs was created as a place for us to display our work, and to that end it worked. Lying somewhere between a corporate web design site and a personal portfolio, we aimed to not limit ourselves to what we could create and share. The Proxima Project was met with (for the most part) praise while many of our smaller projects have yet to see light. Communities such as The Root helped us grow as designers as well as people. In the end, Proxima Labs ended up a potpouri, if you will, of design, one which we hope you will enjoy now and for many years to come.

MySecurityPlan was created to help fight the growing threat of identity theft. The idea behind the site was to create a webpage where people could go to download software, access tools, and learn how to prevent identity theft. We worked closely with the founder to make his vision a reality.

A web site created for a small startup company, Inovent. They specialize in creating ergonomic paper and gift wrap cutters which are appealing to the eye. We incorperated this feel into the website to make it fun and fashionable.

The Proxima Project
The Proxima Project started out as a small community built for artists to display, comment on, and have their artwork graded. It grew into something more -- a large group of artists (over 300 members) who would post over one thousand pieces of art. The project was built from scratch and utilizes the Mint Man content database system, created in house.
